Chief's Report November 2, 2006
  1. ISO status.  We have a lot of work ahead of us and a lot of training to adequately perform these exercises.  Our all day training of the 21st provided us with the opportunity to practice moving water as well as working on maintenance items in Station

  2. Runs/pageouts see summary.

  3. School Safety.  I met with the Principal, staff and Cpl. Paige of the PCSO.  It appears that our participation in these events will be limited to medical support, shielding, and road blockage. We have been planning to cover these areas.

  4. New Pumper project.  We have received a grant in the amount of $ 115,000.  This is $ 15,000 less than we had asked for so we will have to go with a used unit.

  5. As a result of the Platte Canyon incident, Sheriff Wegener has been contacted by the Governor’s Office to determine what it would cost to improve communications for first responders within the county.  This means upgrading to an 800 mhz system.  Lori Hodges is developing the application and at this time the total cost is at $ 31/2 million and rising.   It’s doubtful that this will come to fruition in the near future.

  6. The response to the letters that I sent to the inactive members has been discouraging with only one response.  Our next step will be to send registered letters demanding the return of equipment.
